I designed the mechanical system and worked on the electronics for
the conversion of the "Shadow Dextrous Air Muscle Hand" to the "Shadow C6M
Smart Motor Hand" for use on Willow Garage's PR2.
The C6M Smart Motor Hand and Dextrous Air Muscle Hand are used in research
by NASA and many Universities.

In 1988 I created the Shadow Biped, an experimental human sized pneumatic powered biped which at the time was the most ambitious biped project outside of Japan, it was featured on NASA's robotics pages and in 2002 was specially invited by the Japanese to be on display at Robodex 2002 where it was voted 'favourite robot' by an exit poll.
It has now been acquired by the Science Museum London for their Permanent Collection. I restored it and delivered it there on 10th December 2013 and it was the star exhibit at the Director's Christmas Drinks Party where they show off to invited guests the latest acquisitions.
